5 things I love.

Hi, friends!
Today I decided to share a few random things that I love right now. Sometimes I get really excited about silly things, and just have to share them!

1. The Hunger Games.

OK, I know pretty much everyone is obsessed with The Hunger Games right now. But I just can't help it! I read the books for the first time about a year ago, and instantly fell in love (with Peeta, of course). And lately I probably have watched the movie trailer enough times to have it pretty much memorized. Total obsession, I know. My poor husband has to deal with me literally squealing every time one of the previews come on. I can't help it! I. Am. In. Love.

2. My city

Ever since I moved to Seattle, I've absolutely loved living here. But for some reason the past few weeks I've just been reminded of how much I love it! There's nothing like a gorgeous and sunny drive back into the city. There are certain things I miss about living in a more suburban area, like free parking and less noise, but all in all I love Seattle with all of my heart.

3. The Maze Runner series

This is another book series that I have become slightly obsessed with. I'm currently on the second book, and I'm loving it so far. The story is  about a boy named Thomas who has no memories of his life, and has to figure out who he is and why he was sent to a world surrounded by a maze. That's an awful explanation, but I don't want to give anything away! It's really intense and a bit scary at times, but that's what makes it so awesome.

4. Glitter nails!

I've always been a bit of a nail polish junkie, but lately I just can't get enough of glitter nail polishes! Every time I'm in a store I swear I can see the sparkles from the other side of the room. Does one person really need ten different colors of glitter polish? Nope. But glitter does add a bit of fun to any nail polish color, and I tend to get a lot of compliments on my nails when I wear it!

5. Birthday present!

OK, I think it's been stated a million times that I LOVE Ariel. So much so, that my hubby bought me this awesome cameo pin of her for my birthday.
I've been wearing it the past few days, and love it. It's kind of a grown up way of letting people know how much I love The Little Mermaid. I can't have everyone thinking I'm a crazed red-headed Ariel fanatic. This is more subtle way of showing my love. :).

Those are some of my favorite things at the moment. Two books, Seattle, Glitter, and Ariel. As random as they come, I'd say :).
Happy Thursday!

A few of my favorite things.

Here are a few of my favorite things from this week:

        1.  My salon now exclusively sells Bumble and bumble products. I'm like a kid in a candy store.
2.   How cute is this sparkly ring that my client gave me? So much love.
3. We threw a Christmas Ball for the kids in our youth group. It was filled with dinner, dancing, and photobooth pictures. It was awesome.
4. These girls let me do their hair for the ball. I love them so much! (The girl in the gold is my lovely sister-in-law.)
5. One of my best buds gave this to me. It's filled with beautiful projects and ideas.
6. I bought my first mid-length skirt last week. I was a bit weary to wear it at first, but I'm kind of digging it.
7. Theo is a local chocolate company that makes some awesome stuff. Including this peppermint drinking chocolate. It's insanely good.
8. Hot pink lipstick and long(er) hair. It's sure come a long way since the summer.
9. Knitted headbands. I've made quite a few of these for others, but I cheated and bought this little guy from Forever 21.
10. Anthropologie. Particularly their home section. I might just try and make my apartment look exactly like the store.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve Eve Eve! (I had to count like three times to figure that out, ha.)
Happy Wednesday!

Memories.

Coat-Forever 21/Shirt-H&M/Jeans-H&M/Boots-BCBGeneration

This coat makes me feel a bit sentimental every time I wear it. It's one of the first things I purchased when I moved to Washington four years ago. I moved up here about a week before Thanksgiving, and I had absolutely no warm jackets or sweaters. Being from California, my idea of a jacket was a zip up hoodie. And my idea of "warm" shoes were ballet flats. Let's just say I was freezing for a good three or four days. So I went shopping and decided to by myself a bright yellow coat.  Even after four years, I still totally love it. It's a bit beat up, and probably will fall apart sooner than later, but I'll wear it until that actually happens. I love how articles of clothing can hold so many memories. Thank goodness, I finally have a reason for never getting rid of anything in my closet.

P.s. My hubby and I took these pictures while it was raining. I'd say I'm pretty awesome for risking frizzy hair for an outfit post, wouldn't you? (Just kidding)

Happy Monday!

Favorite Things: Fall edition

So like many people right now, I am SO excited for fall. I've been wearing over the knee socks like there is no tomorrow, and dreaming of the days spent inside with a book and some candles.
I am so excited about it, that I decided a list of my favorite fall things is in order!

1. Cozy Hats
I've been looking forward to wearing cozy knit hats for a few months now. Mostly because now that my hair is at a decent length, I can wear them without looking bald! I've always been crocheting/knitting like crazy and can't wait to make some cute hats for the cold weather.

2. Candles
I know candles are not necessarily a seasonal thing, but I especially love them in the fall.
I always look forward to being able to find some new scents that I love. I've been hearing a lot of things about the smores candle they have at Bath and Body Works. Doesn't that sound amazing?

3. Baking
Baking is about the only thing I can do in the kitchen that I feel good about. Sure, I can throw together a meal, but there is something about baking some fresh cookies or a cake that completely captures my heart. I'm hoping to try out some new recipes this fall, which I'm pretty sure my husband is OK with.

4. Boots
If it were up to me, I'd wear boots every single day of the year. And luckily here in Seattle, we can get away with wearing them for a good majority of the time. I usually tend to go for tall over the knee boots (catching on to my over the knee love, yet?). This year I want to try a few different styles of boots, and perhaps some new shoes as well! The more the merrier.

5. Coffee
Again, coffee is not something that only comes around with one season of the year. But there is something magical about drinking a big mug of coffee while being snuggled up in a blanket with a book, while your hubby is giving you a foot massage. OK, that last part is a bit of a stretch..but it sounds great, right?

6. Mr. Campbell
OK, so he is not exactly directly related to fall. This year he totally is an excited part of mine. My dad is coming up to visit in November! He has not been up here for awhile, and I am SO excited to spend some time with him. We are going to go see They Might Be Giants, who I've been (forced) to listen to since I was a kid. OK, I love them. But I was indeed forced to listen to them despite my pleas to listen to The Backstreet Boys on car rides.
(That's my dad with one of his "kids" from Haiti.)

What are you most looking forward to this fall? I'd love to hear some of your favorite things!

Shoespiration

Hello, friends! Today I wanted to share some shoespiration. Yes, I know that is not a real word, but don't you agree that it should be? It has a great ring to it. So lately  I've been getting a bit bored with my shoe collection. Which seems a bit silly, as I have more shoes than I need. But despite the fact that I don't need any, I put together a little wish list of shoes I found through Pinterest. Wishing never hurt anybody, right?

The majority of my shoes at the moment are neutrals, and I am loving the idea of some color and texture added to my collection. My favorite are the blue wedges with the bows on them.  I'm pretty sure they need to find a home in my closet.

What are some of your favorite must-have shoes?

Happy Thursday!

Wrinkled

Top-Forever 21/Jeans- H&M/Shoes- Urban Outfitters

First of all, I apologize for the horrible wrinkled mess that is my top. I swear I know how to iron, and I indeed used one before I put this on. I have a love/hate relationship with this shirt. We go way back. It used to be a dress, that hit just above the knee. A husband, who shall remain nameless, accidentally shrank it. I grieved for a bit, since it was my favorite dress. I finally realized I could wear it as a top. Thank goodness for my innovative thinking. I love the color and pattern, and it's still one of my favorite things in my wardrobe.
Now if I could only figure out a way to get it to stop wrinkling after I put it on, I'll be golden.

Happy Thursday!

She's on fire.

Dress-Forever 21 Sweater-? Shoes- Urban Outfitters
This dress is one of my favorites at the moment. It's really easy to wear, and I love the combo of orange + blue. I wore it in a previous outfit post here, if you missed it. My hairdo has also become a favorite of mine recently. It's called the "I like to pretend like my hair is long" do. I don't think I'm fooling anyone, but I love it none the less. It's a great change from having it down and in my face all the time.

Taking pictures today was a bit awkward. (hence the slightly awkward face I make in all the pics)
This man, let's call him Dave, decided to come hangout in the alley where we were shooting. He decided to relieve himself in front of us, and then proceeded to let me know that I look like I am "on fire."
I was a bit tempted to say "Yes, Dave. Yes I am." Don't worry, I saved myself the embarrassment and just giggled a bit.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday. I'm off to go eat some Vietnamese food with the hubs. Goodnight <3
