Twins

Dress-Forever 21/Jacket-Target/Scarf and headband-gifts!/Oxfords-Target

I wish I could take complete credit for this dress, but it actually belongs to my little sister. She has pretty good taste, if I say so myself. I gave her a few things from my closet, so she let me borrow this little number for awhile. I just love the little hearts on it! During my trip home during the holidays, I realized how much the two of us are alike. We look alike, talk alike, say the same things, and are about exactly the same height. She's nine years younger than I am, but I think we are long lost twins. I always wanted someone to share clothes with, and I just love that she is finally my size! Or maybe it's that I'm finally her size? Either way, it's a lot of fun.
I love this dress so much that she might have a hard time ever getting it back :). Also, these oxfords were on sale for like $12.99 at Target. So if you're on the hunt for a comfy pair, I'd run to Target now before they sell out!

I am so excited for New Year's Eve! I hope I get a chance to snap a few pictures of my outfit. Let's just say it includes a LOT of sparkle.

Happy Friday!

Bits and pieces.

I am finally back from my wonderful mini vacation to Orange County! Above are a few pictures of our trip. Just looking at them make me so happy!
My hubby and I had so much fun hanging out with my family and spending four days with them. We laughed, shopped, ate, and rode bikes on the beach. I got to see a ton of my family, including the newest member Kait, who is my sweet future sister-in-law. I have to admit, I've been pretty bummed since I got home yesterday morning. I love my family more than anything, and it's always hard to say goodbye to them. I am so blessed to have family that supports me and loves me the way they do. I know not everyone gets to experience that.

I'm really looking forward to  New Years Eve! Do you guys have any fun plans? I don't know what I'm doing yet, but I do know it will involve wearing sparkles :).
Look for more regular posting this week/next week. I know it's been a bit scarce around here.
Happy Thursday!

Merry Christmas!

I'm currently sitting in the airport on my way to Orange County to see my family for the holidays. This California girl is ready for some warm sunshine!
I hope you are able to spend time with your loved ones, and remember how blessed we are to be able to celebrate such a special day! Here are a few pictures of me and the hubs from a Christmas Ball we were a part for the youth group at our church. This is one of many photo booth sessions. If you are a family member of ours, you can count on receiving one of these pictures with your Christmas present :).

You're welcome for the last set of pictures. My husband thinks he is pretty hilarious. I do too, most of the time. I'm thinking we should use that last picture as our Christmas card next year. Classy.

I'll be back on Monday!
Merry Christmas!!

A few of my favorite things.

Here are a few of my favorite things from this week:

        1.  My salon now exclusively sells Bumble and bumble products. I'm like a kid in a candy store.
2.   How cute is this sparkly ring that my client gave me? So much love.
3. We threw a Christmas Ball for the kids in our youth group. It was filled with dinner, dancing, and photobooth pictures. It was awesome.
4. These girls let me do their hair for the ball. I love them so much! (The girl in the gold is my lovely sister-in-law.)
5. One of my best buds gave this to me. It's filled with beautiful projects and ideas.
6. I bought my first mid-length skirt last week. I was a bit weary to wear it at first, but I'm kind of digging it.
7. Theo is a local chocolate company that makes some awesome stuff. Including this peppermint drinking chocolate. It's insanely good.
8. Hot pink lipstick and long(er) hair. It's sure come a long way since the summer.
9. Knitted headbands. I've made quite a few of these for others, but I cheated and bought this little guy from Forever 21.
10. Anthropologie. Particularly their home section. I might just try and make my apartment look exactly like the store.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve Eve Eve! (I had to count like three times to figure that out, ha.)
Happy Wednesday!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Dress-Target/Sweater-H&M/Boots-Target/Headband and bow ring-Forever 21.

So, I have to admit something. I stole this dress from my sister. Over the summer she casually mentioned that she didn't want it anymore, so I figured I'd just casually toss it into my suitcase. She doesn't seem to miss it too much, so no harm done :). It's actually become one of my favorite dresses. It's easy to wear, and transitions from summer to winter really well. I'm hoping my sister doesn't read this and asks for it back...

Can we just talk about how close Christmas is? I mean sure, it's the same day every year, but it just kind of snuck up on me this week. I am about 90% done with all of my Christmas stuff, and I'm hoping to finish it all before we leave town this weekend. If not, a few people may be upset that they won't be getting any presents. I'm really excited for Christmas this year, though. I'm drinking Christmas tea, listening to Christmas music, and eating Christmas treats like it's going out of style!

What about you guys? Are you all done with your Christmas preparations? If so, I say bravo!
Happy Monday!

Lippies

If you guys have been reading my blog for a little while, you know that I love makeup. I mean LOVE makeup. I especially love makeup that works well and is fairly inexpensive. Enter Revlon's new lip butters. The beauty gurus that I watch on YouTube have been raving about these for awhile now, and I finally got around to trying them out about a month ago.

These are seriously wonderful. They are like a lip balm and a lipstick combined into one. So not only do you get the moisture and shine from the balm, but you get the color of a lipstick. The colors are much more pigmented than any other lip butter I have tried. They are not as long lasting as a lipstick, but they definitely stay on for a good amount of time for how soft and creamy they are. They also look great paired with a lip liner, but are gorgeous all on their own. I have three colors so far, and I love each one!

Here they are:

Gorgeous, right?
Peach Parfait is a gorgeous nude/light pink with a bit of gold shimmer to it. This is great for an everyday color that you don't need a mirror to put on because of how light it is.
Lollipop reminds me of Girl About Town by MAC, which is one of my favorite lipsticks. It's  a really bright pink, but sheer enough to make it easy to wear.
Sugar Plum is an awesome "your lips but better" color. It gives a nice rosy tint to your lips, and looks great paired with a darker smokey eye.

If you are a lipstick junkie like myself, I think you should try these out. I found mine at Target, and I think they are also sold in most drugstores. They have a ton of colors, so I'm sure there is a shade fore everyone.

What makeup products are you loving right now? I'm always looking for new ones to try.
Have a happy Wednesday!
xoxoKelsey.

Phones

Jacket and sweater-H&M/Skirt-Forever 21/Tights and Boots-Target

Would you believe me if I told you these pictures were taken with my hubby's iPhone? I almost can't believe how nice they look! Thank goodness for all the new fancy technology on phones, because I totally forgot to charge my camera yesterday. We snapped one picture with  it, and then it died. In a moment of sheer panic, Ian came to the rescue with his phone. Good thing I gave it to him for Christmas, otherwise you guys wouldn't have any outfit pictures to look at.

Sorry if that bored you to tears. I am running around like a crazy woman today trying to get all of my holiday shopping done. So naturally I am typing this blog post like a crazy woman as well! Although that's pretty normal for me :).

Happy Monday!

Sparkle.

There is something about this time of year that just makes me want to wear sparkles all the time. I definitely am a sucker for sequins year-round, but I feel like they are especially festive during the holidays, don't you agree? I don't a great sparkly dress, but I do have a few sequined sweaters, and I'm going to make sure they get some good use this month!
Here are a few sparkle inspirations that I've been obsessing over via pinterest.

Just the top.

 Top-Forever 21/Cardigan-Ross/Hair bow-made it!

Somehow in the majority of the pictures my hubby took of me in this outfit, I look like a ghost.  No joke. You can't tell where my shirt starts in comparison to my skin. It's a bit scary, so therefore we shall call this the "just the top" post. Meaning its up to you to imagine what else I was wearing that day. If you don't want to imagine, I'll help you out. It was just some skinny jeans and black wedges. :)
Despite the mishap, I really wanted to show you guys this top. I've had it for a few years, and every time I wear it I feel like See's Candies employee. Which is a of course a good thing, because I love candy. Like, a lot.

Wow, what a random post. I'm sorry, guys. Apparently my brain is not working very well, haha. I promise that the next post will be much more organized.
And just to make this post even more random, here is a little picture of our very first Christmas tree.
Isn't it cute? It's pretty tiny, but perfect for our little studio.
Yes, that is indeed an Ariel tree topper. I couldn't help myself :).

Hope you guys are enjoying December so far! 19 days until Christmas!
Happy Monday.
