Hat person.

Outfit details: Top-H&M, Jeans- Forever 21, Flats- Target, Hat- Forever 21

Confession: I've always wanted to be a hat person. What's a hat person, you might ask? It's someone who wears cute hats all the time, and totally pulls it off. I've always had such short hair, that hats always made me look bald. I don't pull off bald very well.  Every time I see a girl who is rocking a hat, I won't lie, I get slightly jealous of how awesome they look. But now that my hair has grown, I feel as if my time has come to start rocking some hats myself.

I found this hat last weekend while shopping with my husband. I tried it on, and didn't hate it. So I showed it to him, and he told me we were buying it. He obviously knew that I've secretly always dreamed of being a "hat person". I'm kind of in love with the hat now. I think it's a perfect accessory for Fall, and I'm hoping to get a lot of use out of it. It kind of reminds me of something Molly Ringwald wore back in the day. And we all know she rocked a hat better than anyone else.

Happy Friday!

Pink

 Blouse-H&M/Jeans-Forever 21/Flats-Nordstrom Rack (I think?)

.

This blouse is something I purchased recently, and while it's definitely not something I normally would pick out (not usually a pale pink fan). I really love it, though! It's incredibly comfortable, and I can't wait to try pairing it with a few skirts. I also am really liking these jeans as well. I love that the inside of them is black, so you get a bit of a contrast when their cuffed.

Random fact: I cuff all of my jeans. Short girl problems.

Is it starting to feel like Fall, or is it just me? We had our typical two weeks of Summer here in Seattle, and the weather has already started cooling down a little bit. I'm loving being able to wear more of my long sleeved shirts and cardigans again. I love warm weather, but for fashion's sake, Fall is truly the best.

Happy Wednesday!

Geometric.

 Dress-Forever 21/Shoes-Target

I've been loving this dress for Summer. It's been so nice outside lately, and wearing lightweight dresses have been a life saver on these hot days we've been having. Plus this dress has an awesome geometric pattern on it, which I've decided is a bit of a shout out to the 80's. Hair from the 80's? Bad. Fashion from the 80's? Definitely still has potential.

Normally I like have pictures that show what I'm wearing in a bit more detail, but we were dealing with an extreme temperature today and wanted to get back inside. OK, it was only like 89 degrees outside, but us Washingtonians are big weather wimps.

Also, can we talk about the fact that my skin color is about the same shade as my dress? I need a tan.

Happy Thursday!

Outfit repeater.

Dress-Forever 21/Sweater-H&M/Flats-Target

I have this weird thing about wearing the same outfit too many times. I tend to always try and mix it up with accessories and shoes to try and make an outfit feel new each time I wear it. Of course when I do repeat an outfit, I use the "it doesn't count if you aren't seeing the same people" excuse every now and then. Well this past week I've been kind of obsessed with this little dress/shoe/sweater combo. I picked up this dress at Forever 21 last week, and am guilty of wearing it multiple times already. It's incredibly comfortable, and is perfect for the nice spring days we've been having! I love how easy cotton dresses are to just throw on without much effort or thought being put into it. I wish it came in ten different colors, because I'd probably make it my spring/summer uniform!

What have you been loving to wear lately?

Happy Thursday!

Easter

(Everything  I'm wearing is from Target. I think I may love that store a little too much?)

So, I haven't posted anything for two weeks. I wish I could say "I've been just so busy doing awesome and amazing things so I had no time for blogging." But, I really have no good excuse for why I was gone for so long. I have just been in a bit of a funk lately, and needed a little break from blog posts and videos. But I'm feeling good and am ready to get back at it!

This is what I wore yesterday for Easter. It was a beautiful day, and I took full advantage of the weather by forgoing tights and boots and busting out some open toed shoes. It's definitely a nice change of pace to have 65 degree days around these parts. The hubby and I spent the morning serving at church, and then had lunch with his family. And then of course we played a little Settlers of Catan (Yes, we're a slightly nerdy). I won the first game, naturally.

Here are a few random snapshots from the day:
I'm preeetty sure his beard is bigger than my head. :)

My favorite little ladies and I, Cali (above) and Annie!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend as well. I promise not to disappear from the blogging world again without proper notice :).

Happy Monday!

Mint

Top-Forever 21/Sweater and Jeans-H&M/Shoes-Steve Madden/Clutch-Target

I am really loving mint green at the moment (hint: the color of my clutch). Correction, I am completely obsessed with it. I'm pretty sure I've purchased three different nail polishes in this color in the past few weeks. I'll admit, that is a bit ridiculous. But it's a big color for spring, so I just consider that being well prepared.

I'm also obsessed with these oxfords that I just picked up recently. They have the perfect amount of a heel to kind of balance out the masculine look to them. I found them on clearance and figured I probably needed them ASAP. I hope that the fact that they were on clearance doesn't mean it's because they're going out of style, because I'm going to be rocking them for quite some time.

By the way, thanks for all the sweet responses to my video post last week. I'm excited to make a few more of them!

Happy Monday!

Blue.

Top and Skirt-H&M/Flats-Target

1. I have a bit of writer's block tonight, so all I have are some random facts for you to read.
2. The past two days I have been able to wear sunglasses. As a California girl, this is a big deal.
3. The color of this skirt is one of my favorites at the moment. Reminds me of the Blue Man Group, as well as Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
4. I just watched this, and now I can hardly contain my excitement for the movie!
5. I have been loving this song. I've listened to it at least 10 times in the past few days. It's insanely beautiful.

Happy Thursday, everyone!
(I promise I'll actually have something more to write about next time.)

Elephant.

Dress-Forever 21/Shoes-Target/Bag-Urban Outfitters/Necklace-Delia's.

Have you noticed a trend in these past few weeks of my outfit posts? (hint: animals)  Last week's outfit included birds, and this week it's elephants. I saw this dress and just had to have it purely because there are elephants all over it. I'm not a huge elephant fan in general, but I sure love them on a dress! Is my interest in animal prints a bit odd? Probably. But hey, I do get to have a lot of  random conversations with people because of it.
SO worth it.

Also, can we talk about these shoes for a minute?  I've been wearing them nonstop. Like to the point that I almost am thinking I need a back up pair for when they wear out. I've never owned nude flats before, and now they're my favorite ones to wear. It's a bit of a refreshing change from the usual black ones I wear.

I really have been a terrible blogger lately. But I already have a few posts planned for the week, so let's hope my bad blogging streak will end shortly!

Happy Monday!

Put a bird on it.

Top,Skirt, and Sweater-H&M/Boots-BCBGeneration/Hair clip-Target

I've always had a thing for birds. I know that nowadays pretty much everything has a bird on it. (Portlandia, anyone?) But that has not stopped my love for the them. So imagine my excitement when I found this skirt last week at H&M. I literally spotted it from the other side of the store and dashed over to get it. It was calling my name, I swear. I'm excited to style it in the spring/summer pretty soon!

Speaking of summer, can we talk about how old winter is getting? I am so ready for some warmer weather. Sure, I love wearing tights and boots and sweaters, but I'd kill for some sandals and summer dresses! Today is actually nice and sunny, though, so I'll put on my sunglasses and pretend it's 70 degrees outside :).

Happy Monday!
xoxoKelsey.

Disney love.

Cardigan-H&M/Tank-Urban Outfitters/Skirt-Target/Boots-Steve Madden

Hello, lovelies!
This past week was a great one. I'd say it was a mixture of sunshine, busy work days, lots of laughter, and fun. I've been extra happy this week because I leave for California on Wednesday night!  I'll make sure to blog about my trip, but know that Disneyland, a Calamity Jane themed birthday party, and lots of pictures of princesses will be included. (No worries, the Calamity Jane theme will be explained later.) The trip itself is for my upcoming birthday, and yes, I am going to Disneyland for my 24th birthday. I don't care how old I am, I'll always have a thing for Disney princesses and splash mountain.
 Always.

Anyways, the weather here is finally warming up. It's much more pleasant to take outfit pictures when it's not like 35 degrees outside. I'm crossing my fingers that the warmer weather sticks around for awhile. Or forever. I'd be fine with that, too :).

Happy Sunday!
xoxoKelsey.

Shadow Proves the Sunshine

V-neck-Urban Outfitters/Shoes-Target/Headband-Forever 21

I know this a pretty casual and unexciting outfit, but I got ready pretty quickly this morning. Plus I was more worried about getting outside in the sun than in what I was wearing. Yes, you heard me right, SUN! I rushed out this morning to go on a lovely walk with a friend around Green Lake, and then drank coffee and read outside for awhile. Let's just say it was an amazing way to spend my day off.

As much as I miss living somewhere with more frequent sunny days, there is nothing better than the first few days of warm sun after months of clouds. Every time we get a sunny day around here, I can't help but start singing this song by Switchfoot. It's always been one of my favorites! You should listen to it and enjoy it as well.

I hope you guys were lucky to have a sunny day, too!
Happy Monday!

Snow day

Coat and scarf-H&M/Dress-Forever 21/Boots-BCBGeneration/Necklace-gift/Belt-H&M

Today was the first snow day of the year. Now, a snow day in Seattle usually means just a few sprinkles here and there, but it still counts. We sure know how to overreact to snow, let me tell you. Half and inch of that darn white stuff and the whole city is in panic mode. It's pretty funny. We decided to take advantage of our snow day and spent it inside watching some shows and eating lunch. I seem to have come down with a bit of laryngitis, so it was nice to relax and try to avoid talking too much. (I think I was unsuccessful at not talking, unfortunately).

It was actually really fun taking these pictures in the snow, despite the fact that I was pretty chilly. I just love this little dress so much that I couldn't skip taking pictures of it. And when you look at the picture below, you can tell I didn't mind the snow one bit! Warning: majorly cheesy photograph alert.

It's suppose to snow for the next few days, so you may be getting some outfit pictures of me in a snowsuit :).

Happy Sunday!
xoxoKelsey.
