Shadow Proves the Sunshine

V-neck-Urban Outfitters/Shoes-Target/Headband-Forever 21

I know this a pretty casual and unexciting outfit, but I got ready pretty quickly this morning. Plus I was more worried about getting outside in the sun than in what I was wearing. Yes, you heard me right, SUN! I rushed out this morning to go on a lovely walk with a friend around Green Lake, and then drank coffee and read outside for awhile. Let's just say it was an amazing way to spend my day off.

As much as I miss living somewhere with more frequent sunny days, there is nothing better than the first few days of warm sun after months of clouds. Every time we get a sunny day around here, I can't help but start singing this song by Switchfoot. It's always been one of my favorites! You should listen to it and enjoy it as well.

I hope you guys were lucky to have a sunny day, too!
Happy Monday!

I'm back!

So, I took an impromptu break from blogging last week. Don't worry, these was definitely a good reason for it. My very best friend came to Seattle for five days, and it was pretty much the best few days I've had in awhile. We laughed, ate, drank coffee, watched movies, cracked up at our own jokes, took a road trip, and reminisced about the past.

We've been best friends since we were six. Impressive, right? I tend to think of her as my soul-mate. In a platonic/best friend kind of way, of course.

Here's a (large) amount of pictures from her time here. We think we're pretty awesome, and therefore we take a ton of pictures of our time together :).

We drank a lot of coffee. How cool are those wooden blocks?
Powell's bookstore. We traveled to Portland mainly to go here. It's magical.
 More coffee.
An obscene amount of chocolate for two people to consume. We couldn't help ourselves, there was a huge selection!
 Roastin' some marshmallows.
 Isn't she darling?
No big deal, we just were offered free smore's at a bar we went to. It was amazing.
A sneaky shot taken by the bestie.
Portage Bay Cafe. Hands down one of my favorite breakfast spots in Seattle.
We kept a journal all through high school. I'm sure you guys can imagine what kind of embarrassing things this little thing holds. So much laughter went on while reading this.
So good. I love free chips and salsa. Everything tastes better when it's free, no?

Best friends really are such a blessing. I'm really glad that I decided to take some days off of blogging in order to really enjoy some time with her. Time with her is better than just about anything.
I did miss reading my favorite blogs and talking to you guys, though. I'm looking forward to getting back into the blogging swing!

Happy Thursday!

Phase

I just love the little squiggly stripes on this sweater. I love stripes in general, but when they have a bit of a quirk to them, I love them even more! This little pullover is becoming one of my favorite things to throw on for a comfy day.

Saturday nights are usually a day that we go out to eat with a few friends. Instead of going out last night, we stayed in and made pizza and ice cream sundaes. Everything was fine and dandy until we started playing Phase 10. If you've ever played the game then you know it has the ability to make enemies out of friends, and can cause a lot of tears and yelling. There really were no tears (maybe one or two), and just a few yells here and there. But man, that game is intense! I forgot how much I love playing card/board games. Who says the only way to have fun is to go out on the town? Give me homemade pizza and a riotous card game anytime :).

Happy Sunday!

Lately

1. We rode a ferry to visit some friends. Isn't the view from the dock awesome? 2. Some boxes of color at work. Those numbers are a a part of a secret hairstylist code. 3. My littlest niece, Cali, was dedicated on Sunday. She's so sweet. 4. My hubby on the ferry. He looks pretty darn cute. 5. We had AMAZING cupcakes at a volunteer dinner at our church. The frosting is almost as tall as the cupcake itself! 6. We found a local restaurant that serves Australian pies. They were delicious. 7. My new lipstick love. I have so many lipsticks, it's pathetic. Can't. Stop. Buying. Them. 8. The menu from Pies and Pints, the restaurant that serves Australian pies! 9. I made the most amazing cake batter bars from a recipe I found on pinterest. I can try and post it if you guys are interested! 10. I am reading this book currently, and am in love with it. It's a bit quirky, which is right up my alley.

I hope your week is going well. I'm a bit ill, so excuse me if I'm a bit slacking in the blog post department. I'm hoping a cold now means no cold this winter. I'll be doubling up on my vitamin intake from now on just in case!
Happy Tuesday!

Wedding Weekend!

Hello, lovelies!
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of being the matron of honor in my friend Rachael's wedding. It was a ton of fun, and I loved every minute of it. I've known Rachael since I was born (she's ten days older), so we've pretty much been friends since day one.
Friday was spent getting pampered and preparing for the big day. I got to spend time with the other bridesmaids and some of Rachael's family. On Saturday we woke up early so we could start on hair and makeup. I had the honor of doing Rachael's, and I think she looked absolutely amazing. It was a clear and crisp sunny day, which made for the most perfect wedding. I was able to snap quite a few pictures of the weekend, and I wanted to share them with you guys! Sorry for so many pictures, but I just wanted to share them all :).

Aren't weddings the best? There is nothing like watching two people commit their lives to each other and to the Lord.
I hope your weekend was just as wonderful!
Happy Monday.
