Project 31: Day 5.

 Day 5: Write a blog thanking someone who has made
your heart come alive.

The obvious choice for this someone is my awesome husband, Ian. He is the only one who makes my heart sing!

So here is a small letter, thanking him for making my heart full and alive.

Dear Ian,
Thank you for being such a wonderful husband. Thank you for making me laugh, and for always loving me even when I don't deserve it. Thank you for all the times you tell me how beautiful you think I am. Thanks for listening to me when I complain about silly little things. Thank you for being so calm, when I freak out about everything. Thanks for loving the Lord with all your heart, and for always putting Him first. You are a pretty awesome guy, and I'm glad you are mine. I love you, Mr.

P.S. And thanks for letting me cut off all your hair, I think you are a pretty good looking guy. Especially with your new do.
Yours forever,
Kelsey.

It's here! It's here!

I am so excited to finally be able to make a blog post about my etsy store! I put up my first few items for sale over the weekend, and I am going to be adding stuff as fast as I can make it!

I knit headbands. All are unique, and look super cute on just about anyone. I love mixing colors and really just making statement pieces for everyday wear. Here are a few of the headbands that I have up for sale currently:

Here is the link to my store (Ah! So happy!) http://www.etsy.com/shop/KelseyRosieKnits

I also can do custom orders if there is a specific headband your heart desires!

Be back tomorrow for day 5 of project 31.

Project 31: Day 4

Day 4.  Style 31.  Post a pic of you in your favorite outfit

Picking out a favorite outfit is really difficult! I'm not usually one to wear the same thing twice very often. I always mix and match my clothes to keep it fun and interesting. Plus, it keeps me from feeling the need to buy new clothing all the time! Luckily, I had a coworker who captured a picture of an outfit that really describes my style the other day. P.S. Isn't the wallpaper at my salon awesome??

This is pretty much me. I love dresses and skirts more than pants. And I wear jeans very rarely.I think I find that dresses and skirts are much more flattering to my body type than pants. I guess I kind of have an hourglass shape, and certain pants make me look kind of frumpy and odd shaped! I almost always have tights on with boots. Boots seem to be an essential when living in Seattle and just the Northwest in general. Otherwise I would have a lot of days of having wet feet from all the rain. My style is a mixture of old and new.  For example, I love mixing vintage with modern pieces. Or wearing a modern shaped dress that has a vintage-style patten to it. I wear a lot of grey and black, and usually pop some color in there. I wear brights too, but sometimes I feel like they compete with my crazy bright hair!

So there you go, one of my favorite things to wear! Do you want to join in and do Project 31? Check out She Breathes Deeply  for all the info on it. She's got the button and everything!

I'll be making another blog post today, and it will be an exciting one!! So you should probably come back to check it out :).

Project 31: Day 3

 Today was a busy one. Worked all day, and took pictures of all my headbands to put onto my etsy site. Hoping to have them up by the end of the weekend. Anyways, here is day three of Project 31!

Day 3: Who is someone you know who inspires beauty?

There is a person I thought of right away when I read this question. Who is it, you ask? My best friend, Sharla. No doubt she is a beautiful girl inside and out. Sharla has always been gorgeous, I mean seriously gorgeous. She also looks just like Reese Witherspoon, which people point out to her all the time. Not only is she beautiful looking, but she is an absolutely beautiful person on the inside. Sharla lives her life with so much passion. Her life is dedicated to living for Jesus, and her heart just oozes with love for Him. She is a kind and caring person, and loves spending time with people and encouraging them. She always listens to me, and gives such sound and wise advice about life. She always is inspirational to me, and I always look up to her for her beauty, and am so lucky to have known a girl like her for the majority of my life.  I hope she reads this, and can be reminded about how awesome she is!

I'm hoping to squeeze Day 4 in tomorrow.  It's a busy day! I have to work, and then my hubby's band is having their EP release show. Want to check them out? I have no problem with shamless plugs :). Check them out!

See you tomorrow!
Kelsey.

Project 31: Day 2

So I definitely skipped a day of blogging, so I am still only on day two of Project 31. But no worries, as long as I do it eventually, right? OK, question two!

What makes you uniquely you?

So, this question is a blast! I love learning what makes people unique, and what fun quirks people have!

Here are some random and unique facts about me:

-I have bright red hair. Like, really red. I almost always have red hair.  My sister's hair is red naturally, and I've always been secretly jealous. I'm blonde naturally, but it's not as fun :).

-I'm a bookaholic. I love love love to read. My husband and I have an overflow of books at our apartment.

- I love Disney Princesses. Especially Ariel. She is my favorite. (Maybe that's why I love red hair so much!) I know I'm way too old to like them her as much as I do, but I can't help myself. Its my only way to hang on to my inner five year old.

-I love to bake.

-I'm a very laid back person, but high strung all at the same time. Weird, right?

-I love showtunes and musicals. I wanted to be a professional stage actor for a few years when I was growing up.

Hope those were fun to read! Tune in tomorrow for day three!

xoxoKelsey.

Project 31: Day 1

Day 1.  What does beauty mean to you?

This is a question I had to think about for awhile. Beauty to me means a lot of different things. For one, I work in the industry of beauty, so my days are consumed with hair color, makeup, hairspray, and mirrors. I absolutely love making someone feel beautiful. Sure, outward appearance is not everything, but there is something fabulous about looking in the mirror and loving what you see. I can't tell you how awesome it feels when I see someone's face light up when they see their hair after their service is over. Beauty is also something that is not always physically seen. There is beauty in the way someone speaks, the way they treat others, and the way they live their life. I always find beauty in someone who is selfless, and people who have love just pouring out of them. Beauty to me is found in knowing God, and having a personal relationship with Him. He makes me feel beautiful, and reminds me my gifts and abilities are what make me a beautiful girl inside and out.

Hope you enjoyed day one! Stay tuned for tomorrow.

Beauty Series.

Hello everyone!

So recently, I saw a series on this lovely gal's blog. I've been following her for a few months, and she is awesome. The series is called "Project 31." It's 31 days of celebrating beauty in a way that is very inspiring and special. The whole idea behind the project is the passage in Proverbs that says this:

Description of a Worthy Woman
10 An excellent wife, who can find?
          For her worth is far above jewels.

11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
          And he will have no lack of gain.

12 She does him good and not evil
          All the days of her life.

13 She looks for wool and flax
          And works with her hands in delight.

14 She is like merchant ships;
          She brings her food from afar.

15 She rises also while it is still night
          And gives food to her household
          And portions to her maidens.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
          From her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She girds herself with strength
          And makes her arms strong.

18 She senses that her gain is good;
          Her lamp does not go out at night.

19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
          And her hands grasp the spindle.

20 She extends her hand to the poor,
          And she stretches out her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household,
         For all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for herself;
          Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates,
          When he sits among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
          And supplies belts to the tradesmen.

25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
          And she smiles at the future.

26 She opens her mouth in wisdom,
          And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

27 She looks well to the ways of her household,
          And does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children rise up and bless her;
          Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:

29 “Many daughters have done nobly,
          But you excel them all.”

30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
          But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

31 Give her the product of her hands,
          And let her works praise her in the gates.

Now if that is not an awesome woman, who is? I strive to be like this everyday. Not exactly easy. I am so inspired by Project 31, here are the daily questions I'll be answering:
